Hybrid Contracting

A collaborative way to build—with more ownership and flexibility.

Hybrid contracting is ideal for homeowners who want to be hands-on while benefiting from professional guidance. We take the build to a defined stage — typically to drywall — providing structure, timelines, and quality execution. From there, homeowners can complete the remaining work at their own pace, with confidence in the foundation that’s been built.

What to Expect

A True Partnership Approach

Hybrid contracting is ideal for homeowners who want to be more hands-on in their build. We work alongside you—offering guidance, structure, and expertise—while you take an active role in decisions and coordination.

Flexibility in Sourcing & Trade Relationships

You may choose to source your own finishes, fixtures, and materials, and work directly with certain trades—while we help guide, advise, and coordinate where needed.

Professional Oversight Where It Matters Most

We remain responsible for the structural and performance-critical aspects of the build, including framing, building envelope, insulation, vapour barrier, and drywall—using materials and systems we trust.

Clear Roles &
Expectation

We establish clear responsibilities from the start so everyone understands who is handling what—reducing confusion, overlap, and miscommunication.

Design Support With You in the Lead

We still provide design guidance, recommendations, and support—but you maintain full control over selections and sourcing.

Performance-First Building Standards

While you have flexibility in many areas, we remain protective of the core systems and methods that ensure your home performs well long-term.

Clear Guidance for Confident Decisions

With over 30 years of combined experience, we help you understand the implications of your choices so you can make confident, well-informed decisions.

Consistent Communication & Support

You’ll have ongoing access to guidance and clarity throughout the build—so you’re never left guessing.

How We Build Differently

Listening first.

Every project begins by understanding how you live, what you value, and what you want your home to support. We combine your ideas with our design and construction expertise to guide smart, well-informed decisions.

Planning before building.

We believe the most important work happens long before finishes are chosen. Layouts, materials, systems, and structure are carefully considered to ensure long-term performance and comfort.

Built for real life.

Our homes are designed for New Brunswick conditions — climate, land, and lifestyle included. Energy efficiency, durability, and adaptability are built into the structure, not added as an afterthought.

Resilient by design.

Through our Resilient Homes philosophy, we incorporate systems and construction methods that support long-term living — including energy efficiency, alternative power readiness, heating and water considerations, and materials chosen to exceed code where it counts.

Our Process

01. Consultation

Every project begins with a thoughtful consultation. We take time to understand your goals, priorities, lifestyle, and budget through a guided discovery process. If we’re working within an existing home, we’ll also visit the site to assess function, layout, and structural considerations. This stage allows us to identify opportunities early and lay the groundwork for smart, well-informed decisions.

02. Design & Build

With a clear plan in place, we move into the build phase. We manage all aspects of the project — coordinating trades, sourcing materials, securing permits, and overseeing the work on site. Throughout construction, we provide regular updates so you know what’s been completed, what’s coming next, and where things stand. Our focus is steady progress, clear communication, and maintaining quality while respecting timelines and budgets.

03. Completion

As the project comes to a close, we conduct a detailed walk-through to ensure everything meets our standards and yours. We address final details, answer questions, and make sure you feel confident moving forward. Our goal is not just a finished space, but a home that feels right — built with care and ready to be lived in for years to come.
